SHARED KITCHEN

The Cookery can save producers and food entrepreneurs from investing in costly equipment and real property to start or run a food business. Local farmers can use The Cookery to preserve the season's harvest and create opportunities for additional, off-season income streams. The increasing demand for locally-produced foods, along with the missions of the Community  Learning Center (CLC) and programmers, enables The Cookery to provide extended use of the kitchen with affordable rates for both for-profit and non-profit entities. Memberships provide the greatest benefit and access to equipment and amenities. The kitchen is also available by the hour.

Kitchen users must provide their own ingredients, most small appliances, pots, pans, utensils, dish soap, towels, laundry detergent, etc. and must complete work within the day.

For-Profits

For-profits who use The Cookery to start or grow a business will enjoy free "wrap-around" services made available by Be Noble Inc., our community's local economic development organization (LEDO). Business advisors from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and SCORE mentors are also brought in as needed to help overcome challenges and obstacles to building or growing a business.

Non-Profits

Non-profits who use The Cookery will work directly with CLC staff, on hand to help ensure any needs are met while helping to explore opportunities to collaborate with CLC programmers and other area non-profits who serve the community.

Hourly rates are discounted to support qualifying non-profits.
